The Australian openers David Warner and Ed Cowan showed some fighting spirit as they gave a solid 56-run start to their side in the second innings of the second Test played at Hyderabad. After losing two quick wickets, the Australians are on the back-foot as they are still 192 runs behind. The onus rests on skipper Michael Clarke, Shane Watson and well-set batsman Ed Cowan to reduce the first innings deficit.
Australia were 74 for two at stumps on day three and trailed India by 192 runs in the second cricket Test at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, here Monday.
Ravichandran Ashwin accounted for both of the Australian wickets to fall. Ed Cowan (26) and Shane Watson (9) were at the crease after David Warner (26) and Phil Hughes (0) were both castled by the off-spinner.
