India defeated Australia by an innings and 135 runs in the second Test match with a day to spare here Tuesday. India now leads the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-0.
Australia, resuming at 74 for two, were bowled out for 131 in the second innings just before lunch on the fourth day. Australia had declared their first innings at 237 for nine.
India were bowled out for 503 in the first innings.
