NEWS Pakistan in India 2005>Ganguly to play domestic cricket before Pak series 16th Jan 2005 14.32 IST By CricketZone Bureau Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly on Saturday said that he would take part in domestic tournaments like the Duleep Trophy to get match practice before the coming India-Pakistan series. "I will play Duleep Trophy. I will play some domestic games to get match practice (before the Pakistan series)," Ganguly told reporters in Kolkata. The skipper also expressed his willingness to take part in an exhibition soccer match between Sourav's XI and Film Stars' XI on January 22 at the Salt Lake stadium to raise funds for Tsunami victims. "It is for a cause and I will play," he said. Apparently reluctant to talk about the Indo-Pak series, which was still "far away", Ganguly said the opening duo of Virender Shewag and Gautam Gambhir, who have performed well in last few Tests, would continue in their job. As for the injury to medium pacer Lakshmipathy Balaji , Ganguly said he was not quite aware of the progress the bowler has made. Ganguly said he was happy to see Bangladesh record their maiden Test win in the ongoing series against Zimbabwe . "They needed this victory. It will boost their morale."
