NEWS Tri-Nation Tournament in Sri Lanka>Fifth bowler issue serious: Dravid 06th Aug 2005 20.44 IST By Agencies Having paid a heavy price for the lack of a quality fifth bowler, India are making their part-time bowlers put in more hours at the nets in an effort to tide over the long-standing problem. Captain Rahul Dravid admitted that his side was taking the issue of fifth bowler seriously and was now trying all it could do to plug the loophole for the remaining matches of the cricket triseries. “If you have noticed they are bowling a lot in the nets these days. The more they bowl the better they will get,” he said. India have lost both their matches against Sri Lanka largely on account of some poor batting and the fifth bowler giving away too many runs. The stylish middle order batsman also hoped that the conditions in Colombo could produce a different result for his team. “There is a possibility that we could play two spinners or it could again be a combination of three and one. “The wicket at Premadasa, I have generally noticed, is that it starts off well but then gradually tends to get slow and low. Hopefully, we are playing just two games here so it wouldn't be a factor here.” Also View In-Depth Coverage: Tri-Nation Tournament in Sri Lanka | LIVE CRICKET COVERAGE NEWS ~ Gilchrist has no plans to retire after World Cup ~ Ganguly's new batting approach may cost him sixer record ~ India 'squash the Orange' in World Cup warm-up game ~ Symonds gets a new hairdo for World Cup ~ Dhoni readies himself for stand-up act at World Cup (more in NEWS) FACE-TO-FACE ~ 500-mark a possibility in World Cup: Hayden ~ Minnows add charm to World Cup: Dravid (more in FACE-TO-FACE) COLUMNS ~ Will Sri Lanka replicate 1996 World Cup success?
