NEWS India-Pakistan Series 2006>Make Shoaib Akhtar vice-captain: Rameez Raja 18th Feb 2006 18.40 IST By Agencies Advocating a greater role for Shoaib Akhtar in the team, former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja has suggested that the pacer be appointed the vice-captain of the squad because of his combative approach to the game. "You have to take initiatives in the sport as per the requirement of the era," he said. Praising the Indian team for its excellent performance in the ODI series so far, Rameez asked the hosts to raise the level of their game and replace Salman Butt with Imran Farhat in the last game to be played on Sunday. Rameez also said that being the captain of the side Inzamam-ul-Haq should come at number five as he only has the experience to hold the innings in case of a top-order collapse. "In modern day cricket, team management, captains and team members must exhibit bold and aggressive approach to keep opponents under pressure," he said. The former captain said he was completely bowled over by the positive attitude of the visitors who have been exceptional on the field. "Indians have got a better think tank but Pakistan is deficient in this area and they need to change their attitude," he suggested.
