Parthiv Patel admits that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has raised the bar for other wicketkeepers but says he has not lost hope of staging a comeback to the Indian squad.

The 22-year-old Gujarat wicketkeeper said Mahendra Dhoni had left all the other keepers in the country behind with his performances in front of the stumps.

"Dhoni is no doubt a very good cricketer. He has raised the bar for other keepers. It has become more difficult than ever before to break into the team," Parthiv Patel is quoted by a news agency.

However Parthiv, who has played 19 Tests and 14 ODIs for India, has not lost hope of donning the India colours again.

"I am paying a lot of attention to both my wicketkeeping and batting. I am working hard and whenever I will get a chance, I will try to prove myself. I am just waiting for one good opportunity."

Parthiv performed well in the last domestic season, earning a recall to the squad for the tour of Pakistan. But the diminutive keeper, however, did not get a chance to make it to the playing eleven.
