NEWS ICC Champions Trophy 2006>Ganguly can stage a comeback: Sehwag 02nd Aug 2006 22.14 IST By Agencies Amid speculation that Sourav Ganguly might find a place in the list of probables for the ICC Champions Trophy, Indian vice captain Virender Shewag also believes that all was not over for the former skipper. "Sourav can stage a comeback like any other player," Sehwag said, replying to a query at a press conference in Bangalore on the concluding day of the weeklong fitness camp for the Indian team, ahead of the Sri Lankan tri-nation series beginning from August 14. Speculation is rife with reports claiming that Ganguly might be included in the list of 30 probables for the Champions Trophy, even though he might miss the bus when the list is pruned. And this is being attributed to Ganguly's stance against his former mentor Jagmohan Dalmiya in the just-concluded Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) polls, which saw Dalmiya defy heavy odds and getting re-elected. Despite Dalmiya's win, the current BCCI regime is reportedly happy with Ganguly's stance and it's being speculated that they might reward Ganguly with a recall in the list of probables. Meanwhile, there are also reports that Ganguly is all set to lose his Grade A contract and might be demoted to Grade B or C, especially because of his long absence in the ODI squad.
