We are confident of a good show: Lara

West Indies skipper Brian Lara said his side would address the tendency to panic in pressure situations, after beating Australia by three wickets in their tri-series encounter in Kuala Lumpur today.

"We seemed to panic today, we will address this. We are in the final already, we are confident of a good show," he said.

Cruising at 242/3, West Indies lost 4 wickets in a space of 13 runs before Dwayne Bravo and Carlton Baugh held their nerves to see their team home.

Lara, who struck a fine 87, said it felt good to be among runs after a while. "Hopefully I can carry on from here."

Asked if his bowlers had allowed the Australians to run away to 272 after having them on a tight leash earlier on, Lara said, "we are still happy to have restricted them in the first 25 overs. I commended the bowlers for that."

The batting superstar had a special word of praise for Christopher Henry Gayle who gave the team a yet another flying start with a quickfire 79.

"Gayle is really special -- in batting, bowling and in the field. There are two more games to go for us and we are depending on him and Shivnarine Chanderpaul to give us another good start."

Dwayne Bravo , on his part, said it felt great to have played a part in his side's victory.

"We will take a lot of confidence from this win. Credit should go to Gayle and Lara who laid the foundation and made it easier for us. Australians are very aggressive. I was a bit insecure and under pressure but my teammates told me not to worry," said the all-rounder who made an unbeaten 37 and also picked two wickets in the match.

Lara said he preferred to focus on his team rather than Australia who had made seven changes in three matches in the series.

"This Australian team is as strong as the one we played in the first game," Lara said.

"If this is the squad they expected to beat us, that is their problem. They had too many good players, they didn't know who to play. We are working really hard. We are not ranked high and we are focussed on getting there. I just have to give my guys kudos for the way we have played and forget about what the opposition does."

Lara said he was not surprised by the fact that his team had confirmed their entry into the final while Australia and India , ranked one and three respectively, will fight it out over the next four days to grab the other berth.

"We didn't just turn up here to play a few matches and then watch the final," he said.

"We have a camp here (for the Champions Trophy) for an extra week. To start the camp on Thursday would be disappointing."

Gayle said his game plan was to stay at the wicket.

"I am a slow starter, I take a couple of overs to get set. But if the ball is in the slot, I am going to take a swat at it," he said.
