NEWS India-Australia-West Indies Tri-Series>Brett Lee gets charged by Sachin’s presence 23rd Sept 2006 20.40 IST By Agencies The sight of Sachin Tendulkar at the crease is enough to charge him up, says Australian pace spearhead Brett Lee , who, according to skipper Ricky Thomas Ponting , is the best one-day bowler the world has seen in the last couple of years. “While bowling to the best like Sachin Tendulkar I always get charged up and try to do that bit extra. I was pitching it right,” Lee said after bowling Australia to victory in the must-win sixth ODI against India with a fiery five-wicket haul. “He is the best one day bowler in the world in the last couple of years. It is very rare that he doesn't take wickets with the new ball, he makes break-throughs as well,” Ponting said heaping praise on the man of the match. “He bowls at great pace and lands the ball where he wants to. It is always going to be difficult for batsmen. Watching him today was pleasure,” the Aussie skipper added. Lee thanked his captain for his belief and said Ponting's words of praise have always lifted his spirits. “It is a very good compliment to have what Ponting says about me,” he said. Meanwhile, speaking of the match which could have gone either way, Ponting said he was confident of victory despite the poor batting. “I thought we were in the game for a fair bit of time. We didn't have many runs but when we got the four wickets and looked at their team and saw they had fairly long tail, we knew we had a chance,” said Ponting. Ponting also defended his team's rotation policy and said the experiments have worked out well for the World Champions. “It was a tight situation and Australia generally wins those situations. It is really good win. We wanted to have just enough wins to make finals. I am not relieved, I am proud that we did that with doing al the experiments that we wanted,” the Australian skipper added.
