No more experiments, says Lara

Wiser from experience, West Indies skipper Brian Lara said he would pack the top order with experienced batsmen and ensure the batting does not let the team down in the tri-series final against Australia in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

"I will of course revert to (Shivnarine) Chanderpaul and Chris (Gayle) and (Ramnaresh) Sarwan and myself in the top four and the experience there hopefully will take the pressure of those lower down," he told reporters on the eve of the title clash.

Lara was referring to the last league match against India where his team made some changes in batting order only to lose the game by 16 runs in a low-scoring thriller.

Admitting that batting continued to be a concern, he said, "I am a little happier in the bowling areas but of course there is cause for concern in the batting." Lara, who had stated that some of his players were lacking confidence after the defeat to India, hoped they would come good on the morrow.

"I still have confidence that they can play. Now it is down to the final and I'm hoping that will bring out the best in them." The batting genius also made it clear that there would be no experimentation and only those players will be fielded who have proved their mettle in the past.
