India look to maintain winning streak in Tests

Past record, experience and a star-studded line-up make India the runaway favourites, as they take on Bangladesh in the first Test beginning in Chittagong on Friday.

After pocketing the ODI series 2-0, India would be looking forward to completing the 23-day tour on a further high by winning the longer version of the game against the hosts, who hold a pathetic record of winning only one and losing 39 of the 44 Tests they have played so far.

After the third match of the ODI series was called off due to bad weather, fans in Chittagong are looking forward to the contest with the sun shining brightly since yesterday.

Bangladesh's dismal performance since their debut as a Test playing nation in 2000 have also resulted in the side getting to play matches not too frequently, with their last Test going 13 months back to date at the same venue.

The hosts had then succumbed to an innings and 80-run defeat against the mighty Australians to lose the series 0-2. continued..
