The trophies won by the Indian team in the Future Cup One-day series against South Africa in Ireland have been recovered and would be delivered at the BCCI office in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Indian Cricket Board Secretary Niranjan Shah said the luggage containing the team's winners' trophy, Sachin Tendulkar's man of the series trophy, and Yuvraj Singh's and Gautam Gambhir's man of the match medals - won after the 2-1 series victory in Belfast would be handed over at the Board office by this evening.
"The luggage would be delivered at the BCCI office in Mumbai by this evening. It was a normal delay and was nothing to worry about," Shah said.
The luggage had been caught up in a "backlog" of bags on their way to India via British Airways, the airlines which was to transport the bags via London last week.
The airlines had blamed the backlog on heightened security measures at London's Heathrow airport. |
