Lured by the lucrative offer from the fledging Indian Cricket League (ICL), Pakistan Test discard Imran Farhat has requested Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to release him from the central contract.
The left-handed batsman signed the contract with PCB earlier this month but after receiving a lucrative offer from ICL has decided to terminate his contract with the board.
Farhat, ignored for the Twenty20 World Cup, also confirmed he was considering an offer from ICL.
"If I am not going to play for Pakistan then what is the use of this central contract which favours the Board and not the players," Farhat said.
The left-handed batsman, who has appeared in 27 Tests and 33 one-day internationals, said he made the decision after careful consideration.
"Now I don't see a future for myself in Pakistan cricket because the selectors are ignoring merit and some Board officials have a very overbearing attitude towards the players.
