Former Australian batsman Damien Martyn is the latest star to sign for the Indian Cricket League (ICL).

Martyn joins, among others, Pakistan's Imran Farhat, the legend that is Brian Lara and South African all-rounder Andrew Hall in the breakaway league.

Former Aussie greats Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath will in all likelihood sign with the ICL soon, too.

Martyn told the Daily Telegraph: "It's a chance just too good to miss. It's a chance also to play in a team captained by Warnie."

Martyn, who shocked his nation by retiring from international cricket midway through Australia's Ashes campaign last December, reckoned the rebel league would not impact on his personal life.

He added: "It's only six weeks each summer which wouldn't have the same burdens of playing for long periods of time away from home."
