Kolkata Test between India and Pakistan to begin from November 30 might see Shoaib Akhtar sharing the new ball with Umar Gul, if the latter gets fit in time, according to Pakistan team officials.

Team manager Talat Ali told ?The News? in New Delhi Thursday that Gul?s back injury doesn?t seem to be of serious nature and the bowler should be back into training in the next couple of days.

He said, ''Umar consulted a local specialist here and according to him the injury is not of any serious nature.''

''The specialist says that the player should be all right after a few days of rest.'' He added that Gul's MRI reports have been sent to the medical commission in Lahore and the team management will shortly receive their opinion.

Gul was supposed to continue his tour of India without any break after the ODI series but he suffered a back sprain and selectors were forced to give a Test debut to left arm pacer Sohail Tanvir.
