Jaffer completed his fifth ton in 24 Tests in the company of Tendulkar with a cover driven boundary off Kaneria after a 212-minute stay in the middle.
The Mumbai-right hander raised his willow in celebration and struck two more elegant fours in the over, which produced a dozen runs.
Tendulkar started quietly but let loose a couple of wonderful strokes to complete his half century and while he was inching closer to three figure mark before being bowled by Kaneria.
Tendulkar, who had scored 975 runs against Pakistan before this match, reached the 1000-run milestone against the archrivals with a cover drive for four off Kaneria just before Tea.
After Tea, Tendulkar brought up his 47th Test fifty, his seventh, against Pakistan and after that Jaffer brought up his 150.
Tendulkar hit twelve fours in his knock of 82 runs before he was clean bowled by a googly from Kaneria. |
