Batsmen dominated the three-match Test series between India and Pakistan with Sourav Ganguly and Misbah-ul-Haq leading the pack, amassing 534 runs and 464 runs respectively.

With lifeless tracks at disposal, batters from both sides exploited the conditions to the full and racked up as many as 10 centuries and 16 half-centuries in the series which India won 1-0.

Half of those centuries was struck by Indian batsmen with Ganguly scoring two, while Misbah led the Pakistani front with two tons to his name.

The plight of the bowlers can be gauged from the fact that there were only four five-wicket haul in the series which came at expensive rates.

Indian skipper Anil Kumble was the pick of the bowlers with 18 wickets at an average of 26.50 which included one five wicket haul.

Pakistani spinner Danish Kaneria had a torrid series and his 12 wickets, most by a Pakistani bowler, came at a costly 52.33. Speedster Shoaib Akhtar managed nine wickets (avg-33.11).

Ganguly continued to amaze in his comeback as he aggregated 534 runs at an average of 89.00 in the series and was deservedly declared the man-of-the series.

The former captain also achieved his career best 239 in the first innings of Bangalore Test and narrowly missed another ton in the second.
