It would virtually be non-stop cricket for the next one year for the Indian team, which is scheduled to play at least 15 Tests and several ODIs beginning from the Tri-Series in Bangladesh from the first week of June.
The itinerary for the Indian team upto April 2009 was finalised at the working committee meeting of the BCCI in Chennai today, its Secretary Niranjan Shah and Treasurer N Srinivasan told media persons.
It would be non-stop cricket for the Indians as they have a hectic schedule after the final of the BCCI-promoted Indian Premier League (IPL), scheduled for May 31.
After the first-ever IPL, India would visit Bangladesh in the first week of June for a Tri- Series, with Pakistan being the third team.
India would then take part in the Asia Cup in Pakistan from June 24, before embarking on a 46-day tour of Sri Lanka to play three Tests and five ODIs till August 30 and then go to Pakistan again for the ICC Champions Trophy from September 8 to 28.
Back home, India would host Australia for a four-Test series to be played at Bangalore, Mohali, New Delhi and Nagpur from October 9 to November 10 and would play seven ODIs and two Tests against England at home, which would continue till December 23.
From January 4 to February 20 next year, India would visit Pakistan for three Tests and five ODIs, before touring New Zealand from February 26 to April 15 to play three Tests and five ODIs. |
