The Delhi side has been bolstered by the arrival of South African's de Villiers, who is looking forward to facing compatriot Steyn who would be donning Bangalore Royal Challengers' jersey tomorrow.
"Not only him, guys like (Jacques) Kallis and (Mark) Boucher are good friends of mine," he said.
Asked if he would share some of the dressing room secrets to help the Delhi players tame the South Africans, de Villiers said, "Of course. I'm more than willing to discuss the strength and weaknesses of the South African players. I would love to do everything that gives us an edge."
"That's the beauty of the tournament," Sekar added.
Joining the squad after playing the Pro20 tournament back home, de Villiers said he has been in good nick throughout the tournament and that should stand him in good stead.
"I have been consistent there and now I'm looking forward to win a few matches for the Daredevils," he said.
Though he had been playing the Pro20 tournament back home, de Villiers said he followed IPL.
"It's an interesting tournament and I guess the key would be to do the basics right."
Asked which team looked most formidable in the tournament, de Villiers said, "I think Jaipur (Rajasthan Royals) look an improved side after Graeme (Smith) joined the squad. But Chennai (Super Kings) has won four out of four and I think they are the team to beat." |
