Kolkata Knight Riders management today denied reports of a rift between team owner Shah Rukh Khan and captain Sourav Ganguly over team composition and tactical matters.

A top source in the team rubbished media reports, which had claimed that Shah Rukh was not happy with some of Ganguly's decisions in crunch matches while the skipper himself was unhappy for not having enough say in team composition.

The source insisted Shah Rukh and Ganguly were in the best of relationships and said, "All these reports of rift are false and baseless. We don't have any problem in the team."

"It is only that our performance had not been to what we had expected. Because we are losing, people are imagining things that we are having problems in running the team," he added.

He said Shah Rukh himself would soon be issuing a statement in Mumbai to clarify the matter.

After their loss to Rajasthan Royals in Kolkata Tuesday, Knight Riders are virtually out of reckoning for a semi-final berth save for a miracle. They play Delhi Daredevils in New Delhi tomorrow in their penultimate match.
