Yuvraj himself chose to focus on the team's performance rather than his own.
"After the World Cup, it was a bad time for all the players. But beating a tough side outside of India gives us a lot of pride," said the 25-year-old who made an unbeaten 61 in the decider to go with a vital 49 in the second ODI.
"Doing well in pressure situations, I feel I have done well before and that keeps me going.
"After the World Cup debacle, the boys took a lot of beating. We needed to prove that we are not so bad as a team. I am very happy that we have won this series," he said.
Tendulkar played down his own vintage performance.
"It was a pretty good series. I played some big shots in the second match. In the first game also I played as the situation demanded. I was striking the ball well," he said.
Next up is a full-fledged tour of England, which could be Tendulkar's last visit to the Old Blighty.
"The England series will be a tough tour. We have got a wonderful start with this series win and the conditions here will also help us in the England tour," he said.
The Belfast victory was a commendable show by the Indian team, which was laid low by a cold bug and struggled to put together 11 fit players on the field for the lone match against Ireland at the start. |
