West Indian captain Brian Lara complimented Ramnaresh Sarwan for his "magnificent innings" which took the West Indies to a competitive total and paved the way for a 99-run victory against Bangladesh on Thursday.
"Sarwan and (Shivnarine) Chanderpaul rescued us from a dodgy start and orchestrated the recovery," he said.
Lara admitted that he was relieved at the victory, adding there was still lot to play for in the final Super Eight match against England.
"We have a tour to England coming up and the match is important in that regard," he said.
Sarwan said it was a difficult pitch to start an innings but once he had spent some time, he became comfortable.
"I concentrated at batting till the end and we looked to accelerate at the right time," the Guyanese right-hander added.
