Having made a strong comeback after being down in the dumps in the first innings of the Test match against India, Bangladesh skipper Habibul Bashar said his side would go into the second Test with a psychological advantage.

"We will have a little psychological advantage. After being eight down for 148, we reached 238 and then bowled really well. This will give us a little edge mentally," Bashar told reporters in Chittagong.

Bashar conceded that his side found it difficult to adjust to the conditions as they were playing Test match after a long time.

"We are playing Tests after a long time. It was a little difficult to adjust and contain them in the first innings. But we did not play very badly and let them dominate totally."

"In the second innings we batted well and the bowlers took some good wickets,” he added.

On whether he expected a declaration, Bashar said, "We thought India would declare. The game was already dead. The only way to bring back some life into the match was an early declaration. If I was in place of Rahul I might have declared too."

Talking about his own form, Bashar said, "I think I batted well in the second innings. In the second I needed to get a start. I got it and am happy to have got some useful runs."
