On the weather in Chennai and Bangalore, he said humidity problem was bit more here.
"The temperature wise it looks like less. Hope it stays like the same over the next two days.”
Speaking about the Chennai crowd, he said he hoped to see them support the Asians and enjoy good cricket.
"Even when we played the Test match here last time they were supportive though rains interrupted. I hope to see good fans turnout and support us and enjoy good cricket. There are some good players in the African side also. So it will be a good match," he said.
To a question on how does the tournament help in development of the game, Jayawardene backed the concept wholeheartedly and said it helped associate nations to get some financial gains from the tournament and take up developmental activities.
"Whatever the money they raise goes back to the region and helped in lot of development work. Asian Cricket Council had been involved in lot of development activities for which we need to raise funds.
"It is a very good activity and I am for it. I personally have learnt a lot,” he said.
From the players point of view, he said they thoroughly enjoy it.
"Its always good to play alongside your peers and having a chat in the same dressing room about the game on how we think and how they think. Have a better idea of how different people approach the game." |
