Africa XI captain Justin Kemp attributed lack of the fifth bowler in his team for the Asian XI's recovery.
"We were short of one bowler. We missed two of our top bowlers and that was why I chose to bowl as the fifth bowler," Kemp said when asked at the post-match conference about allowing Asian XI to recover from 72/5 to score 331. Asian XI went on to win the match by 13 runs.
Kemp, who top scored with 86 to take his side close to victory, described the wicket as fantastic. "Twice over 600 runs were scored. There was a little bit of bounce for bowlers. The grounds men have done a fantastic job. Fantastic tournament. Tournaments like this are good," he said.
On fellow countryman Graham Ford being chosen as the India coach, Kemp said it was a fantastic choice and was full of praise for his former coach. "I have played with Ford in Kent for two seasons...Probably my best seasons. I think India have done very well getting him as coach. He is a fantastic coach. He helped me a lot. Fantastic choice and I think it is going to be good for India in future." |
