Overlooking former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid for the first two one-dayers against arch-rivals Pakistan will give a wrong message to the young cricketers and may lead to the feeling of insecurity, former international Ajay Jadeja said in Indore today.

"There is nothing new about player coming in and out of the team, but the treatment meted out to Dravid by the selectors will give a wrong message and create a fear of insecurity among the youngsters," Jadeja told reporters on the sidelines of a function of private TV channel.

"These selectors only made Dravid captain of the Indian team and he left the captaincy without any fuss which normally does not happen, but now they are telling him that there is no place for him in the team," Jadeja remarked.

"It seems selectors were given too much of importance," he said in reply to a question.

On the issue of players taking retirement from the game when their career reaches at peak, he said no player should take retirement from the game on the basis of his performance.

"In fact, he should quit the game only when he gets bored with it or when he is not fit to play the game."

Praising the new Twenty20 format of the game, Jadeja said that these days he was not able to stand in the field for three days, but definitely he could stand for three hours in the ground.

"The game has generated lot of enthusiasm among the viewers resulting in large number of people getting associated with the game."
