The opener, whom leg-spinner Anil Kumble had caught by Rahul Dravid at slip for a personal score of 67, said a lead of 300 would be a good target to set.

"It (the dismissal) happens in cricket. You get out but no one can say anything. We are still in the match and anything around 300 would be a good target to defend in the fourth innings," he said.

"But they (India) have good batsmen and they can play," he added.

Asked if the below-par performance of Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan was worrying the team, Butt said, "it was not their failure."

"It happens sometimes, but a team never depends only on two people," he said.

The left-hander does not see any devils in the Kotla pitch.

"I don't think pitch did anything. Whoever played well got the runs" but adding, "There is wear and tear in the pitch and ball is keeping low," he said.

On the 45-run first innings lead taken by India, Butt said "we could have bowled them out for the score we had put on board."
