A key member of the Tri-Series title winning Indian side, top order batsman Gautam Gambhir today attributed the rare success to the tremendous camaraderie and team spirit which kept the young cricketers together.

Gambhir said the players were not reluctant to take up responsibility and give their best for the team's success.

"It's a great feeling when you play for the country. The players took up responsibility and performed. There is team spirit in the side. It is amazing to see how they handled pressure," a jubilant Gambhir said after India beat Australia by nine runs in the second final in Brisbane to lay their hand on the Tri-Series trophy.

The Delhi batsman said the team members' resolve to win and the habit of being happy for each other were also responsible for their memorable overseas title victory.

Another important cog in the wheel for India, Irfan Pathan, agreed with Gambhir that team spirit was the driving force behind India's title triumph.

"I am feeling good for myself as well as the team," he said.

The all-rounder acknowledged the fact that skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni backed him well during the crucial last over when Australia needed only 13 runs off six balls.

"The pressure was so much in the last over. Dhoni came to me and said 'enjoy and relax.' We decided not to bowl slow balls to James Hopes, we wanted to bowl full to him and it worked," he said.
