Knight Riders batsman Laxmi Shukla said McCullum's dismissal in the third over of their innings was the turning point of the match which they lost by nine wickets.

Shukla said the pitch was good but their batsmen did not apply themselves well.

"The pitch was fine, but we did not apply ourselves when we batted. Another 30 or 40 runs would have made the difference. And then, our bowlers also failed to provide us an early breakthrough that we were hoping for.

"However, we are not perturbed by today's defeat. It can happen to any team. We had a bad day today, but I am sure, we will bounce back. There is still a lot of cricket to be played in the tournament," he said.
