Smarting from the comprehensive seven-wicket defeat against the Kings XI Punjab Thursday night in Hyderabad, Deccan Chargers captain VVS Laxman said losing wickets in a heap in the last five overs did his side in.

The hosts put up a shabby batting performance with just three of them -- Laxman (48), Rohit Sharma (76 not out) and Shahid Afridi (13) managing double-digit scores.

"We kept losing wickets at regular intervals and that never ended," said a dejected Laxman.

"We could not maintain a healthy scoring rate and in the last five overs, lost just too many wickets," he lamented.

"Personally, I'm happy to score some runs but I wish I could carry it forward," Laxman said. continued..
