After his personal tragedy, Australian middle order bat Michael Clarke is ready to tour the West Indies to take part in the ongoing cricket Test series.

Clarke, who didn't travel to the Caribbean with the rest of the squad as his fiancée Lara Bingle's father was seriously ill, says he has kept fit by training and running and will join the squad for the second Test starting May 30 in Antigua.

He thanked Cricket Australia and his teammates for their support following the death of Bingle's father.

Clarke said he was keen to join the Aussie squad and resume his international career.

"I think I will be a little bit stiff obviously after getting off the flight the for the first couple of days, but I'm happy for the soreness to be in my body, it's been way too long since I've played a game of cricket for my country."

"It's been a while since I've played a game, but there's been plenty of practice," Clarke was quoted as saying in 'The Australian.'

Looking forward to his participation in the second Test, Clarke said he was feeling fresh enough to play the match.

"I was obviously in Brisbane (for Australia's pre-tour camp) with the boys, I did a little bit of batting there and I've done a little bit more over the last couple of weeks.

"But I'm feeling good and I'm feeling fresh, so I'm as keen as mustard. I've had a lot of time to make sure I'm fit and healthy. I think the game situation is going to be the hardest thing to get the most of before the second Test.

"But I've spoken to the coach (Tim Nielsen) and he said the practice facilities are pretty good over there, so once I get there, I will be doing a lot more batting in West Indies conditions," he said.
