"I don't think it (the new system) will stop us doing that (completing 90 overs in a day)," Kumble said.
Kumble also said the Indian side never goes into any series keeping in mind where it would stand in the ICC Test ranking after the tour.
"I don't think any new competition will make us better; make us more passionate about the game."
The Indian team's week-long camp for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour concluded and Kumble expressed satisfaction with the practice and training.
"It's been a good seven-day camp for all of us. It was important we got together and worked on our skills and ensured that we got a hit", he said.
He said the team for the Sri Lanka tour would be picked on July 8.
Kumble said the players would again assemble in Chennai and practice for a couple of days before leaving for the island nation.
On players chances of youngsters like Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma getting a Test call, Kumble said, "it's nice to have such a talent."
He said Indian Test side has been doing exceptionally well as a unit in the last couple of tours. In the July 8 meeting, it would be figured out "what's the right combination to go to Sri Lanka". |
