Indian ODI captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni took his iconic Harley Davidson motorcycle for a spin in Ranchi after coming home from the triumphant Australia tour.

Dhoni is spending his well-earned holiday from cricket making social visits, meeting sports persons and coaches, visiting temples and relaxing.

He arrived in Ranchi Friday and was accorded a warm welcome. Jharkhand Sports Minister Bandhu Tirkey welcomed Dhoni at the Ranchi airport.

After staying home for a few hours, Dhoni took his Harley Davidson motorbike out for a ride. In the evening, he attended a party thrown by former home minister Sudesh Mahto.

Mahto invited him at the naming ceremony of his son. Chief Minister Madhu Koda, Union Food Processing Minister Subodh Kanta Sahay and other dignitaries were present. Dhoni spent a few hours at the function and gifted a gold chain to the former minister's son.

"We named our son Sejal on Dhoni's suggestion," said Mahto.

Dhoni visited Ranchi University Saturday and met coaches and student players. He met Jai Kumar Sinha, who is the cricket coach of the university. "It was a great moment that Dhoni visited the university and met us," said Singh.

Dhoni also visited his new house under construction at Harmu housing colony.

He relaxed Sunday. He rode the Harley Davidson bike without his security detail. He has been provided Z category security by the state government.

The state government will honour Dhoni and other players March 16 in Ranchi.
