Indian cricketers Saturday returned to Chennai from Malaysia after failing to make it to the final of a tri-series against the West Indies and Australia. The players, who arrived at 8.30 pm, quickly made their way to the domestic airport to take the flight to their respective destinations.
Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid caught the connecting flights to Mumbai and Bangalore respectively, while some others like Mahendra Dhoni , Virender Shewag and Irfan Pathan left on Sunday morning. Coach Greg Chappell did not arrive with the team as he has apparently taken a break and will spend a few days in Australia. The former Australian captain would join the Indian team on October 6 ahead of the Champions Trophy that is to be held from October 7 to November 5. The Indian team registered one win from four matches in Malaysia.
