The Indian team has a lot of catching up to do in the one-dayers, if they desire to move into the World Cup on a confident note with a improved status in the ICC rankings charts.

Figure this out -- Mahendra Dhoni is India's lone batsman in the top-10 of the ODI rankings at fifth place, while Yuvraj Singh and Rahul Dravid occupy distant 14th and 15th places respectively.

No Indian bowler finds himself in the top-10 list with the first Indian name -- Harbhajan Singh -- tucked deep on 14th spot.

Irfan Pathan 's lack of form is reflected in the rankings as he is further three places down.

The poor performance in the shorter version against South Africa finds India languishing at the sixth spot behind Australia , South Africa , Pakistan , New Zealand and Sri Lanka .

With 106 points in their kitty, India is ahead of the West Indies by just two points.

India will play four home ODIs against the West Indies and Sri Lanka before the World Cup and will have to show massive improvement both individually and as a team to carry forward some winning momentum before the quadrennial extravaganza.

India can move past Sri Lanka to fifth place on the team ranking chart if it beats the West Indies 3-0 or 4-0 in their upcoming series.

Australia, who will take on England and New Zealand in the tri-series starting Monday, have five batsmen in the top 11 of the player rankings.

Michael Hussey , who retained his place at the top in batting, Adam Gilchrist , Andrew Symonds , Ricky Thomas Ponting and Michael Clarke are all in fine form and will be keen to continue as the World Cup countdown begins.

Things are encouraging for New Zealand in the bowling front as Daniel Luca Vettori climbed three rungs to occupy fifth place. Shaun Maclean Pollock is currently enjoying his highest-ever rating in both the bowler and all-rounder categories.

Pollock is in the form of his life and is currently enjoying his highest ever rating in both the bowler and all-rounder categories of the ICC ODI Player Rankings.
