After their subdued performances in the Test series against South Africa, Indian captain Rahul Dravid and veteran leg-spinner Anil Kumble have slipped one place each in the latest ICC Test rankings.

Dravid, with 816 points, is at the eighth spot among batsmen, while Kumble (731) conceded room for South African seamer Shaun Maclean Pollock (736) to be fourth among bowlers.

India despite their 2-1 series defeat to South Africa, maintained their fourth position among Test playing nations with 107 points.

Led by Australia (135), England (114) and Pakistan (112) are ahead of India.

On the front of individual player rankings, India have disappointment in store as Dravid is the only batsman from the country to even among the top 20, led by Australian skipper Ricky Thomas Ponting (936).

Among bowlers, only Kumble and Irfan Pathan (631), who dropped two places to be at 16th spot due to his recent slide in form, are the players among the top 20.

Sri Lanka's Mutiah Muralitharan (913) and South Africa's Makhaya Ntini (850) are the top two bowlers in the rankings.

With 254 points, Pathan maintained his fifth position among the all-rounders.

Pakistan pacer Mohammad Asif , who had some brilliant performances against the two Tests against South Africa, was biggest gainer in individual rankings as he jumped eight places to 11th spot.

Asif's team mate Younis Khan , who guided his team to win in the second Test at Port Elizabeth, also moved up three rungs to 6th place among batsmen.
