NEWS Cricket World Cup 2007>Sachin Tendulkar appeals to fans 04th Mar 2007 10.03 IST By Agencies On the eve of the World Cup, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has made an appeal to Indian fans urging them to be rational and patient and let the Indian team do their job. The Indian team is in Jamaica and is gearing up for its World Cup campaign beginning on the March 17 with a match against Bangladesh. That prompted Sachin to appeal to the fans to remain quiet and allow the Indian team to play its game. This time too, the master blaster has asked the fans to have patience with the team and allow it to play. Recently, fans took to the streets to protest as India suffered a loss of form on the tour to South Africa. In a carefully worded statement, Sachin has reiterated: "Frankly, it's difficult to keep everyone happy. Nobody should complain, if the effort is there. Personally, I'm pleased when I know I've done the right things. I'm satisfied and can then put my hand on the heart and say I've done the best, I could. Doing everything for the country drives me and is a very important part of my life. I feel that fans must not become so emotional that they become irrational." Without mincing his words, Sachin has made an appeal to the Indian fans. The statement made by Sachin clearly indicates the fact that the Indian audience needs to be more mature and should allow the Indian team to play some good cricket. An appeal, which has been endorsed by both the captain and the coach of the Indian team – Rahul Dravid and Greg Chappell. Clearly endorsing the view expressed by Sachin, Dravid, had a clear message for his fans: "We are going to try our best. We are pretty keen and excited to represent billion people. We want to go out and play some good and exciting cricket and we hope that they will support us through thick and thin," he said, further adding, "We will try our best."
