Profile The younger twin brother of Steve, Mark Waugh is one of the most elegant stroke-players in modern-day cricket. His batting in the 1996 World Cup when he scored three centuries for Australia is one of the main highlights of his illustrious career. He scored a debut hundred against England in his first test match in 1990/91. Besides being a elegant batsman, he has the ability to take key wickets. Beginning his career as an aggressive medium pacer, he is now an able off-spinner. He is an outstanding fielder at slip or gully. He has just become the 5th batsman in the world to complete 8000 runs in ODI cricket and also the holder of the highest score by an Aussie (173) in one-day cricket. Waugh announced his retirement from international cricket without fuss in October 2002 after losing his place in the Australian Test squad to play England.
