Profile
Rahul Dravid has been one of the most reliable batsmen in the Indian team with his blend of technical proficiency and stylish strokes. His style of batting was once regarded as too slow for the one day game, but through sheer practice, innovative strokes and imaginative placing of the ball, he has transformed himself into an integral part of the team in the one-day internationals also. He was the batsman of the 1999 World Cup with two hundreds and the highest aggregate. Presently, he is the vice-captain of the Indian side. There is no Test playing country in the world where Dravid has not scored a century. Dravid recently became the first batsman in the history of Test cricket to score a hundred in all the Test playing countries. Dravid reached the landmark when he hit his 18th century against Bangladesh on the first day of the second Test at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong on December 17, 2004.
